Jim Hart Drums, Vibes

career

Jim Hart is one of the most in demand musicians on the European jazz scene as a soloist and as a sideman on both drums and vibes. A founding member of London’s LOOP collective in the 2000's he has been resident in France since 2014. He has released ten albums under his own name. He is regularly touring Europe and further afield with his own projects and as a member of various groups on the UK, French, German and Swiss scenes including Cloudmakers Trio, Daniel Erdmann's Velvet Revolution, Oragnic Soulfood Trio, Mulitiverse with Ivo Neame, Julien Lourau's Waynes Wonders, Sylvaine Helary's Orchestre Incandescent and Florian Arbenz Conversations.

Winner of numerous British Jazz awards and a recipient of the Worshipful Company of musicians Bronze medal, he has regularly been nominated in the prestigious Downbeat critics poll and also received a nomination for musician of the year in UK Parliamentary jazz awards. Jazz magazine and Jazz news listed him in their best of 2022 poll in the Vibraphone and Percussion category. In 2024 he was honoured by the Royal Academy Of music in London where he has taught since 2010.

He has toured extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia, the USA and Canada, and continues to appear at major jazz festivals worldwide, including North Sea, Molde, Pori, Trondheim, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Rochester NY, Vancouver, Victoria, Twin Cities, Manchester and London and has performed and recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Ralph Alessi, Kenny, Wheeler, John Taylor, Chico Freeman, Django Bates, Stephane Payen, Dave Holland, Norma Winstone, Stan Sulzmann, Julien Lourau, Logan Richardson, Vincent Courtois, Soweto Kinch and many others...
